Why a Coffee Power Nap Works

Youre tired, but you dont have time to really sleep. Rather than taking a power nap or grabbing a cup of coffee, try taking a coffee power nap. Heres what a coffee power nap is and why it actually leaves you feeling more refreshed and awake than either a power nap or a cup of coffee or even a nap followed by coffee. What Is a Coffee Power Nap? You know what coffee is, but it might be helpful to review the power nap concept. A power nap is a short nap (15-20 minutes) that takes you into stage 2 sleep. Its just long enough to stave off some of the worst effects of sleep deprivation or exhaustion, but not so long that it drags you into slow wave sleep (SLS) or deep sleep, which would leave you feeling groggy if you ended it too soon (sleep inertia). Research has shown that even a 6-10 minute nap helps improve concentration, alertness, motor performance, and learning, while a 30 minute nap confers the benefits of a full sleep cycle, markedly reducing fatigue and reversing much of the physiological damage of sleep deprivation. A coffee power nap or caffeine power nap is when you drink coffee or a caffeinated beverage right before settling down for your nap. How a Coffee Power Nap Works The short explanation is that it takes about 20 minutes for caffeine to jolt your system and 45 minutes before it reaches maximum effect. So, the caffeine doesnt keep you from falling asleep, but its there to boost your performance the minute you wake up. Heres the longer explanation: When you drink coffee or tea or your favorite energy drink, the caffeine is absorbed into your blood stream through the walls of the small intestine. When you drink coffee and take a nap, the sleep clears the adenosine so you wake up feeling refreshed, and then the caffeine kicks in and blocks the receptors so you wont get tired again as quickly. Plus, caffeine boosts your metabolism and gives you all those other great stimulant side effects. Its a win-win situation. How Do We Know It Works? Scientists cant get into your brain to see the neural receptors and measure binding rates, but the effects of the coffee power naps have been observed. One study conducted by scientists  at Loughborough University in the UK found that tired study participants made fewer mistakes in a driving simulator following a 15-minute coffee power nap. They got the benefits of the nap even if they reported having trouble falling asleep. Japanese researchers found test subjects performed better on memory tests and felt more rested following caffeine naps. The Japanese study also indicated exposure to bright light following a nap or washing your face could help wake you up.Of course, I advise you to conduct your own experiment to test out the coffee nap for yourself! How To Take a Coffee Nap Drink coffee or tea containing 100-200 mg of caffeine. Dont add sugar or milk. If you choose an energy drink, go sugar-free or else the surge in blood glucose levels may keep you from falling asleep. Alternatively, you could take a caffeine pill.Set your alarm for 20 minutes. Dont go past 30 minutes because the coffee nap works best if youre awake when the caffeine hits your system.Relax. Sleep. Enjoy. It helps to wear an eye mask or turn out the lights. Liberal feminist groups have embraced this issue, and have classified it as being a true barrier to achieving the ultimate gender equality goal. She uses her position and power to influence her subordinates (Vann, Coleman and Simpson 2014). The branch manager of the branch of the logistics company I am posted in uses influence both within and outside the organisations to secure business. She has years of experience of working in the logistics industry and knows how logistics industry works. She possess several leadership qualities like focus, confidence, integrity, passion for her profession, analytical power, decision making power, knowledge about the market and most importantly strong communication skills(Clarke 2013). She has exercised and displayed these leadership qualities of her on several occasion and has earned recognition from the apex management multiple times. Use of influence within the company: She uses her influences to make the employees including the junior work efficiently. She at first holds a meeting every morning with her subordinates to decide the productivity parameters she expects them to achieve for the day. The productivity parameters include the number of new customers each employee should meet and number of follow up appointments the employees should attend. Then she would ask her subordinates the estimated number of appointments meetings and which are likely to earn new customers who would use the logistics facility of the company. She would then analyse the business and the cash inflow these new customers can earn for the company(Epitropaki and Martin 2013). The branch manager would then ask the employees including the junior employees whether they have any difficulty in convincing any particular customer. If the employee in question happens to be a junior employee, she would ensure that a senior employee accompanies the junior employee for the appointment. If the employee happens to be a senior or if a customer is not agreeing to use the logistics facility of the company even after several appointments, she personally accompanies the employees on the next appointment. This support and concern for the employees and their performances reveals her focus and passion for business generation as a branch manager(DuBrin 2015). The branch manager has excellent communication and persuasive skills which she to influence the behaviour of her subordinate employees. She would keep on reminding the employees working under her that the apex management watches their performances and behaviour. She on regular basis make the employees realise that their high performances would bring about their own promotions, job satisfaction and career growth. She would hold personal meetings with poorly performing employees and advice them how to improve their performances(Northouse 2015). The branch manager keeps a watch over the performances of every employee working under her and congratulates high performing employees with rewards and recognition certificates. She would warn employees who show unprofessional and casual attitude towards their work. These actions of her reveal several leadership qualities. They reveal her concern for her followers and their performances. These actions of her reveal her motivation and performance analysing power. It can be said that these qualities of her have great influences on the employees at the branch(Daft 2014). Her continuous supervision encouraged employees to achieve high level of performances by acquiring new customers, maintaining healthy relationship with the existing customers. The outcome of her influence as a branch leader was that the employees succeeded in acquiring a huge client base that used the logistics facilities of the company which generated outstanding revenues for branch and the company as a whole. It is worth mentioning that some of the customers acquired and maintained under the leadership of the branch manager are multinational companies who uses the logistics facilities of the company and generates huge revenue on regular basis (Bernab-Moreno et al. 2015). Use of influence on the customers: The branch manager uses her excellent influential leadership powers to win customers from even bigger logistics companies. She first uses her tremendous communication and persuasive skills to win customers. She addresses and treats the new customers as if they were existing customers. The branch manager often uses her position to lead her subordinates to ensure steady generation of business and continuous inflow of revenue. The logistics company has two broad divisions, the operating offices which generate revenue and do all the back office operations and the logistics department which maintains the warehouses and logistics vehicles. The operating offices direct the logistics department to provide warehouses or logistics transport facilities to the customers and ensures the clients get superior logistics facilities. The sales staffs of the branch meet the clients at regular intervals to know about their complaints and new requirements(Pennings et al. 2014). They intimate their branch heads and the logistics department heads about the complaints and new requirements of the customers. Our branch manager keeps a strict vigil on the requirements and the complaints of the customers. She ensures that their requirements are met and the complaints are resolved, if possibl e. This aggressive use of position to ensure customer satisfaction helps the company to maintain long term business relationships with big customers and generate continue revenue by providing logistics services to them(Gupta, Gautam and Khare 2015). The branch manager as one of the vice presidents of the company uses her power to ensure that the customers of the branch get prompt logistics services at best rates. She uses her power to influence the human resource department and a few senior managers to approve absorption of four competent outsource employees into the payroll of the company. The branch uses her position to highlight the high performances of the employees at the branch before the management. This ensures that the employee get recognitions and promotion to higher posts which bring them job satisfaction and career(Treem and Leonardi 2013). This effective and supportive leadership of the branch manager motivate the subordinate employees to attain high degree of business performance. The theory tells that when employees are subjected to supervision of senior employees and senior managers, they improve their performances to get recognitions for the improvements in their performances(McCambridge, Witton and Elbourne 2014). Hawthorne effect can be observed in all organisations like logistics organisations where employees try to attain high levels of performances to achieve promotions and appraisals, which lead to their career development. The branch manager uses Hawthorne effect to ensure high performances among her employees. She makes them realise that their performances are continuously being watched by the apex management and the senior managers(Leurent et al. 2016). This emphasis on the need to maintain continuous level of high performances makes employees eligible for promotions. I got an opportunity to interview the branch manager, Mrs.... during the Know Your Leader event. There she revealed several aspects of her leadership activities like her leadership styles and challenges she faces as a leader. The branch manager told that according to her leadership is about leading subordinates and motivating them even during tough situations. She told the responsibilities of a leader to understand the position of her subordinate and see into the fact whether the subordinates requires any guidance or mentoring or not. She revealed that she follows a combination of various leadership styles while leading her subordinates. She told that when she holds the morning meeting, she encourages her subordinates to participate in the decision making at the morning meeting. She at that time follows participative leadership style in order to ensure that all the staff members contribute towards making strategies to generate business. When she assesses our performances at the end o f the day or a month, she assumes autocratic leadership style and gives us commands. This revealed several qualities of the branch manager as a leader. Her leadership qualities consist of decision-making power, analytical power, motivational power and focus. When asked about the complexities she faces as a leader, the branch manager replied that leadership is a very complex process because it involves decision-making. She revealed that at times she has to decide to expose the poor performances of the subordinates from the cluster head or to hide those performances and get hit by the cluster head. She revealed that as a leadership she thinks it important to motivate and provide mental support to her subordinates even when they are performing badly. A leader in her position, according to her should know to when to reprimand and when to support a subordinate. The branch manager revealed that leaders have to face several challenges while execting their duties and responsibilities as leaders. She told that there are several factors in the organisations like politics, pressure from seniors and peer pressure leads to the challenges a leader faces. The told that when she started her career as an executive, she had faced challenges from her seniors who would try to demean her motivation. She however told that she has received a lot of support from her peer employees and her immediate bosses. She told that an employee in order to rise in her career should perform well and accept challenges as opportunities. The branch manager told that the employees should gain support from the superior employees and the employees at the same level of hierarchy to achieve promotion and appraisal at the initial stage. She further revealed that the employees in the later stages gain power and use it to influence their colleagues. She revealed that use of power and influence in the later stage help employees to gain promotions and other job facilities. She quipped that power and influence are also instrumental in achieving career growth and stability. They help employees to counteract the impact of the pressure created by other employees. Third stage: Self reflection and recommendations: I learnt several aspects of leadership by observing and feedback of my role model, the branch manager. I can recommend that my own leadership quality can be improved by applying her leadership styles. I have observed that the branch manager uses influence and power to conduct her duties as a branch manager successfully. I have observed that she uses her influence both within and outside the organisation. She uses her influence to make her subordinates perform well. I can opine that her influential position encouraged all the employees of my branch to work harder to generate business. She holds morning meetings to decide on the business to be generated for a day and divide it among us, the employees working under her. Upon reflecting I can point out that while leading us she combines various styles of leadership. She assigns our daily targets individually without asking for our opinion in an authoritative manner. When she asks for our feedback while forming the business generation str ategy, she encourages us to participate. Here I can point out she followed participative leadership style to lead us. I can also point out from my observation that as a leader the branch manager has excellent understanding about the needs of the customers, which she combines with her influential position to acquire customers. She treats even new customers as existing customers, which helps in optimising their decision to work to the logistics company. Upon reflecting on my leadership skills, I feel that I require improving my own leadership skills. I feel that I would combine several leadership theories and practices to better by leadership effectiveness and qualities. Leadership styles and practices to be applied by me: I would follow democratic leadership style and encourage my subordinates to participate in the decision making process. This would make them feel more responsible and encourage them to perform highly. I would also use strategic leadership style and help the upper management to communicate its expectation from subordinates more clearly. I would emphasis on creating a positive environment in the organisation so that the employees feel more motivated to perform higher. The next leadership style I would use is Hawthorne effect like the branch manager. I would make the employees working under me realise that their performances are being continuously watched by the senior managers and me. Upon evaluation of all the three leadership styles I feel that the democratic style will help me to gain participation of the all the employees in decision-making. Hence following this style will encourage the employees to express their innovative selling techniques. Upon evaluating the necessity of strat egic leadership style I can point out that this style will instrumental in bringing about positive changes in the attitudes of the employees which would ultimately transform into their high performances. Hawthorne effect as per my evaluation would keep the employees alert about the continuous supervision of the senior manager over them. It would help them to keep a track on their individual performances. Thus in my opinion combining these three styles of leadership would help me to gain their participation in business acquisition strategy making on one hand and make them achieve their own performances. This would ultimately transform into the high performance of the branch as a whole and help the branch employees to achieve promotions from the senior management. This would also help me to get promotion since high performances of my subordinates would prove my effective leadership qualities before the upper management. Recommendations: The previous discussions about the use of power by the branch manager show that she uses her power to make the accounts department pay her personal bills. It is my recommendation to the branch manager that she should not use her power to have her personal bills paid because it affects the financial resources available to the company. Conclusion: I have arrived at the conclusion that leadership qualities like focus and communication skills help the leaders in the organisation to lead their subordinates. I have also learnt that use of influence and power are inseparable components of leadership activities carried out by employees holding high positions like that of a branch manager. I have also learnt that successful leaders in their initial phases have to face lot of challenges in order to reach high position. Anit Gun Control Should there be gun control? Do we the people need help from the government to set guidelines and bans out to keep us safe? If we did, would the prices we pay surmount the desired results. No, gun control is not a constitutionally sound device nor does it protect us. Gun control is not a new tool. In the past century it was used repeatedly by great rulers/dictators. However, these rulers used it as a tool to manipulate and de-power a nations people. Before Hitler took over and began his quest of racial cleansing, he banned guns from all citizens. Do you think that the stories of 2/3 of euro-jews being led to death like sheep would have been the same if they were armed? I do not. Mass gun control was also used by Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao Tse Tung to de-arm and put entire nations to sleep. However, this could never happen to the United States. Our founding fathers foresaw this and enplaned a precautionary amendment into our constitution. Thomas Jefferson had one of the most intelligent views on gun control, he said Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. This is why we have a second amendment that gives us the right to bear arms. But have steps to violate this right already been put in motion? I think so. Waiting periods on buying guns are ridiculous. If someone who raped and beat you was getting out of jail, and that person promised to re-visit you, would you not like to aquire a gun the night you found out they had been paroled? I would. Also, should large and sophisticated assault weapons be available? Absolutely, yes. Weapons of this caliber are close to never used for criminal acts. Also, could Sharon Tate have fought off the Manson Family with a small 5 shot pistol? No, any means we need to protect ourselves should be available, encouraged and without a doubt legal. For example, Switzerland has introduced laws requiring every house hold to contain at least one fully automatic assault rifle. To everyone's surprise, the murder rate of Switzerland in substantially lower than that of the United States. Should we adopt such a radical life style? No, but would something less extreme be bad? Another myth on gun control is the false study stating that statistics show that a household gun will more likely be used to kill a family member than defend your home. This test is an embarrassment to modern statistical studies, it is deceptiveand downright poorly executed. This test only counted the number of family members shot to that of burglars shot to death. It conveniently neglected to count criminals wounded by these firearms, criminals scared of by the crack of the shot, or even potentially targeted houses left alone due to the acquisition of knowledge that the home contained a firearm. When it all boils down, gun control is just a bad idea. It doesn't even effect criminals who's access to guns will never be infringed upon. How can we prevent potential law breaking people from getting guns with such a large black market for firearms and such a great availability in Mexico and other nations of the world. Even if you did take away all the guns of the world, people would hold up banks with bombs, knives, bow's and arrows, baseball bats, or even an long stale piece of French Bread. The way to prevent such crimes is find jobs for those people, and give them role in society. Are such laws needed when more people will die by drowning each year that death by a firearm? (4,100 drowning lost lives to 900 gun related tragedies) Should we out law all liquids? Of course not, gun control is wrong, and should be promptly abolished. But in the most recent letter I have received, father informed me that you were interested in enlisting for the War. I feel obligated as your older brother to warn you against this. In the time I have been overseas yet to experience a moment of peace. The enlistment posters are all lies, the trenches are being drastically glorified. The trenches are not made for the faint of heart, or even the strongest men, in some places the water is so high it reaches my knees. The sight of some of these men is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, they are filth and blood covered messes. Nighttime is the worst, all you can hear is the constant enemy fire, and the screams of the wounded in No Mans land. Its never silent, and when you think that the fire has almost died down another bomb is fired. The other day we went over the top, the amount of living men left behind was stifling, I can still hear their scream s over the sound of bombs. I havent slept for more than a few hours over the past couple weeks. During the day, the work is grueling, I believe I am starting to develop a case of trench foot from standing in water all day long. Even without the water, my feet are constantly in pain. As the war drags on, the food rations are becoming increasingly smaller, all the men are cranky from lack of food. The physical pain is nothing compared to the emotional wounds, but none of the men would be caught dead talking about their emotions. One man couldnt stop shaking, eventually the Generals were sick of his act and we have not seen him since. People wake up screaming, reliving the nightmares of battle takes its toll. Some of the men are taking their lives to escape the horrors, some try to run but are charged with desertion. Unfortunately, I dont believe the war will die out anytime soon, every side accumulates wins and losses at the same rate. I hope to be home soon, and I hope you consider m y words. Lease versus Buy Essay When an individual is trying to decide whether or not to lease or buy, he or she needs to know the purchase cost, the lease cost, as well as the interest rate of a loan that will be used to purchase the item. The residual value of the item also must be known up front to help determine if leasing is the better option. Frees up cash for other purposes while you generate income to pay the leases. You pay less overall but need to have available cash. Financing as an alternative costs more than a lease. Tax Treatment If properly structured, a lease may give your company a larger expense write-off than a purchase. Consult your tax advisor. Depreciation write-off is based on IRS rules for the type of equipment that you are buying. Consult your tax advisor. Upgrades- Many lease companies let you upgrade to newer equipment during the term of the lease without renegotiating. If you need newer equipment, you are on your own. However, simple upgrades (RAM, hard drive, etc.) cost you only whatever the upgrade is. Equity- At the end of a lease, you dont own the property, and you will need to replace it or buy it from the lease company.You own the equipment and can do with it whatever the needs of your business dictate. Disposal The lessor is responsible for whatever it costs to dispose of the equipment. You are on to your next set of computers. You can use the equipment for a different purpose within your company, sell it, or pay someone to recycle it for you, but disposal is up to the owner of the equipment. The first scenario is an organization called Bonnesante Research based out of Irvine, California. Bonnesante is set up with Venture Capitalist (VC) Funding. Bonnesante major focus is asset acquisition, which is why the Chief Financial Officer has to weigh the pros and cons of leasing vs buying. Bonnesantes is trying to determine if purchasing or leasing is the better option for a mainframe computer. I chose to lease the mainframe computer because the loan options have a higher outflow whereas the lease option of 18 months with no down payment has the lowest present value of cash outflows. Because the Mainframe would not be used through its entire economic life, it was better for the organization to lease the mainframe. If a loan was acquired to purchase the mainframe, the organization would have to record the purchase on the balance sheet and the depreciation and the interest payments would be recorded as expenses. If the organization was taxed then purchasing the mainframe would be beneficial because the depreciation and the interest payment would lower the outflows. In the second scenario Bonnesante Research is tasked with finding the best option to acquire a spectrometer. The options Bonnesante Research is faced with are: Operating Lease Capital Lease Loan After evaluating all the information, buying the spectrometer would be the best option for Bonnesante. Buying the spectrometer is beneficial because it is considered to be a long term asset with no threat of becoming obsolete. The spectrometer can be used for its entire economic life. An operating lease would not be beneficial because an operating lease is considered when equipment is to be acquired on a short term basis. The capital lease was another option but was not chosen because the 60 month capital lease would have cost more in present value terms than what the loan amount would have  been to purchase the spectrometer. If the organization had cash flow issues, then the capital lease might have been a better option. Whether the company pursued a capital lease or received a loan to purchase the spectrometer, both options can be recorded on the balance sheet so the organization can reap the benefits of depreciation. The final scenario is Bonnesante Research has been in operation for 6 years and wants to acquire a manufacturing facility. Bonnesante Research already has a facility in mind but that facility will require an upgrade. Bonnesante Research has the options of a capital lease or Bonnesante can purchase the facility by obtaining a loan. Also, Bonnesante Research has to keep in mind the organization is having a cash flow crisis that needs to be resolved. The challenge Bonnesante was faced with was to acquire the facility at the lowest cost possible and to resolve the cash flow shortage. Although the buy option was more expensive than the lease option, it gave Bonnesante more flexibility to upgrade the facility and to carry out a sale and leaseback transaction. Due to the leaseback transaction, Bonnesante was able to resolve the cash flow crisis. The leaseback option was more beneficial to Bonnesante rather than the bridge loan. The bridge loan is a short-term loan with a higher interest rate compared to long term borrowing. A bridge loan would have been more costly to Bonnesante Research and the organization could not afford to go with this type of loan. A sale and leaseback is beneficial to any organization that has a cash flow shortage. Selling the asset can bring forth a large amount of cash and the organization can retain use of the asset by leasing it back hence the name sale and leaseback. The risks involved with lease vs buying depends on an organizations financial status. Whether or not an organization decides to lease or buy is determined by what option is more beneficial to the organization. An organizations attitude toward acquiring assets and financial strength all affect the decision on leasing vs buying. Whether an organization leases or buys, the organization needs to make sure the asset that is being acquired will add value to the organizations capital budget. The advantage of computing present value considers all factors such as  inflation and forgone interest on money. That is, account must be taken of the fact that utilizing capital in investing in equipment could result in the loss of income that would have been earned if it were invested elsewhere. To properly evaluate the alternative cash flows, it is necessary to discount them and express them in terms of their present values, to determine their net present values. When determining when to lease vs buy, an organization should take into account the financial and non-financial issues. When considering the financial aspect, it should include the cost to acquire an asset; if there will be a tax advantage, cash flow, and the benefits to the organizations balance sheet. The non-financial issues that should be considered are asset-management and the cost to dispose of obsolete equipment. In conclusion, under certain circumstance leasing is the better way to go rather than purchasing a capital item outright and vice versa. By leasing, it gives an organization a way to acquire up-to-date equipment while maintaining cash flow. By maintaining cash flow through leasing, an organization can use the cash flow for more pertinent renovations such as office expansion or research and development. Leasing has less of an impact on an organizations budget whereas purchasing an item outright has more of an impact on an organizations budget. The Hypocrisy of Teaching American History Reading, writing and arithmetic, these three subjects are the basic outline for American schools. In those subjects, where does history fit in? Some believe that teachers avoid history because of how corrupt America has been. James W. Loewen, author of Lies My Teacher Told Me, says, "Parents may feel undermined when children get tools of information not available to adults and use them in ways that seem to threaten adult-held values." (Loewen 296.) The adults had to learn the same false history children are being taught today. Boon Rawd Brewery Company Essay

Throughout the years, Boon Rawd has diversified into an award-winning brewer and beverage maker, exporting its globally recognized products worldwide. The key to success and also be a mission statement is â€Å"Transparency! We do the right things. We live as a good citizen and don’t cut corners.† This principle is one of many that have helped Singha obtain the largest market share for beer in Thailand. Domestically, the company sees strong growth in the beer segment dominated by Singha. It expects local demand to grow 6 percent next year to 1.2 billion liters by inaugurating a new facility in 2009. Aside from Singha, Boon Rawd sells other beer varieties, soda water, drinking water, ready-to-drink fruit juices, ready-todrink coffee and tea beverages under various brands, such as Thai Beer, Leo, Moshi and B-ing, a flavored vitamin functional drink. Although Boon Rawd got many awards in â€Å"beer capitals† such as Brussels, Osaka, America, Australia and New Zealand but in the word of president â€Å"you have to dare to challenge the outside world† which makes them still not to  stop expanding their market and find new opportunities over time. Consequently, we decide to analyze and evaluate them for the purpose of getting insight in their international management plans, their competitive advantages, and their human resource management. Besides, this study is also included with countries analysis, industry analysis, and international market too. For the courses of action, we begin with SWOT analysis of Boon Rawd including with providing the company background. Then we do the countries analysis such as GDP, population size, inflation and business environment in those countries. Next, we also find the information that can be fit to Boon Rawd products by studying from primary and secondary sources and do PEST analysis. Lastly, we would examine the marketing strategies of Boon Rawd such as how they trained their employees, how they developed their products, how they could make and retained the international customer relationship in order to penetrate those international markets and find the best way that can make them success in long-term future. It was established in 1933 by Boonrawd Srethabutra, on whom HM King Prajadhipok Rama VIII bestowed the aristocratic title of Phraya Bhirom Bhakdi. In that time Thailand was called â€Å"Siam† until 1939 it was changed to Thailand. Nowadays the brewery is still under the Bhirom Bhakdi family management. At first the company produced and sold only beers like Singha, Leo and Thai beer, which Singha is the most famous and popular beer. Later when the company had grown to produce over 800 million liters of beer they started to producing soft drinks as well. They are producing drinking water, soda water, ready-to-drink juice, ready-to-drink green tea, B-ing â€Å"lifestyle functional drink† and some other soft drinks also. So they can sell products to huge part of the population. Network of The Boon Rawd Brewery Co. includes three breweries and six soft drinks factories all over the Thailand. Other factories located in strategic regions across The Thailand, in Chiangmai, Khonkaen, Singburi, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani and Surat Thani. The Boon Rawd Brewery Co. Ltd. owns two breweries in German. The first one located in the town of Mittweida, that brew Mittweida beer and the second one brews Gerand Hartmanndorf beer in the town of Gerand Hartmanndorf. Nowadays their products are exported to over 25 countries around the world. The largest export country is neighbor country Cambodia; followed markets are in United State, United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. In addition they sell their product to China, Philippine, Laos and Vietnam. Sometimes they sell product to some other neighbor countries as well, but sales are sporadic. The company sells Thai beer as well, and lot of different soft drinks, like ready-to-drink juices, ready-to-drink green tea, drinking water, soft water and something like that. In addition, all citizens are free to engage in any business activity, as long it is a legitimate activity. Governmental offices issue a title of property, which guaranty one’s ownership of a real, personal, or intellectual property. The process of issuing a property title can be somewhat time consuming; however, when the process is due, the owner is protected by laws, and enforced by judicial system. In addition, some Southern cities had successfully settle negotiations over public land in order to help low income citizens to own a private property. This kind of law and political environment can ensure the safety for our intelligent property of beverage and ownership for brewery and all the assets we owned. 3.Brazil has no yet achieved institutional stability. Government, courts, school, business, and specially law enforcement are struggling to bring solid bases of stability for Brazil. Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former president, did a good job in recognizing the state’s responsibility for the injustices during dictatorship. On the other hand, violations of human rights still an issue in Brazil, Inflation seems under control for now, but Brazilians had experienced inflation as high as 5,000 percent a year, during late 80’s. Most recently, the revocation of rules, and addition of new  provisions are still happening in Brazil. Therefore, skepticism is among Brazilians, and international observers. 4.The banking system in Brazil has been improving over the past few years; however, more than 50% of the Brazilian population has no means to ever get a bank loan, neither open a bank account. The first problem is that millions of Brazilians have low income. The second problem lies on the credit bureau, which has a deficiency on tracking one’s credit history. Most Brazilians prefer to use the direct financing system, in other words, a store finances one’s purchase, breaking it in small monthly payments, and charging very high interests. If the individual do not pay his or her bills, then the store can confiscate the product, and report his or her name to the credit bureau. 5.Brazilian legislators are far from calling themselves effective in work. Brazilian economy still has non-satisfactory fluctuation, more than 40% of the population lives in total poverty, infant mortality is high, transportation and educational system have big issues to be solved, and crime and corruption are a huge problem. After Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former president, first year in office, several denounces came about some Brazilian legislators being involved in scheme and corruption scandals. Such news did not surprise most Brazilians, except for the fact that someone had the courage to speak out. 6.Brazilian government has a long history of resisting the increase of minimum wages. Its main reasons are: a) if minimum wages increase the Brazilian government will not have enough money to pay for all the social security pensions, and governmental employees; b) factory companies say that if minimum wages are increased it would be catastrophic for the companies growth, since their budget for wages and benefits will increase tremendously. In addition, companies claim that if the minimum wages are increase some companies will be force to file for bankruptcy with leads to lay-offs, and increase of national unemployment rates. Our company should be much careful about this. 7.Brazil has some of the most strict environment protection laws in the world; such laws are design to protect citizens, the fauna, and flora of Brazilian territory. Despite of the governmental efforts, the process of reinforcing such laws has not been successful; part of it is due to the inefficiency of some governmental agencies. For example, the Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renovaveis (IBAMA) is an the governmental agency responsible for the formulation, coordination, execution, and reinforcement of environmental laws. 8.Any country must protect and promote national enterprises; however, Brazilian government is being over protective. It causes an unbalance cycle of dependency among Brazilian enterprises, which have more to lose because free market would promote competition, and consequently it promotes the development of new technology and money flow. Brazilian government has a long history of being over protective toward its national enterprises. The means in which the government uses as protection strategies vary and it changes time to time. For example, Brazil has an extended list of shipping requirements for imported goods; these requirements cause a difficult time to foreign enterprise, and the process of shipping a nightmare. In addition, the import taxes are high, restrictions on foreign-produce advertising is a strict, and complex bureaucratic process–all make foreign enterprises less capable to compete with Brazilian enterprises in Brazilian territory. Economic:1.Brazilian government requires that all business transactions be made in Brazilian currency (reais), and all foreign currencies must be converted before any business transactions. 2.Brazilian government requires that only one currency be use inside the country, and the Brazilian currency is called the â€Å"real†. However, many businesses will accept dollar or euro as form of payment for good or services. Many Brazilians will save the foreign bills as form of investment because they believe that such currencies will rise in value, and if they not, at least it will not devalue as reais would. In addition, some fortunate business people prefer to be paid in dollar because it, later, will be transported outside the country. 3.Brazilian government has been consistently causing a budget deficit in its domestic budget. In other words, the Brazilian government has been spending more than it collects from taxes each year. 4.Many Brazilian citizens dream with the idea of opening their own business; however, due to high taxation, and labor benefits Brazilians are skeptical about the risks of opening a small or median enterprise. Nerveless, Brazilians citizens welcome new business enterprises because it generates jobs for the citizens. On the other hand, there is a popular believe that if one opens a business enterprise he or she must dodged taxes. Brazilians often avoid paying taxes, as much and as long as they can, because they not believe in the socialist system. 5.Between the years of 2001 through 2003, Brazil shows minimal signs of vulnerability to outside forces. Brazil’s foreign trade impact ratio was gradually increasing during the period from 1999 to 2008. It is likely that Brazil could create more wealth to its citizens by increasing its foreign trade impact. Social:1.In Brazil, one’s ability to create wealth is filled with barriers, especially for low background citizens. It is important to say that if one’s will is strong, he or she might have a chance to advance economically; however, such dream is not a reality to millions of young Brazilians. First, Brazilian education system does not embrace the minority groups. Ironically, the public universities, free education, are primarily composed of elite youth, and private universities are composed of poor or middle class youth. Several philanthropic entities focus on helping Brazilian kids to develop some kind of skills, in order to help them to get a job, but these entities mistakenly forget to encourage and educate kids to pursue an academic life. In general, Brazilian society believes that if one has born poor, he or she will never make a good living. 2.Crime rates in Brazil have been increasing, and many are not reported. This perception frequently can compromise one’s decision of opening a small or  media enterprise. Police fails to assure safety for citizens as well for business. Into the large corporations such fear is reduce due to fact that large companies can afford to pay for an team of security guards. These are what our company should focus and pay a attention to what will hurt our line of business. 3.Protection of public health and safety in Brazil is quite bad, because infant mortality and mal-nutrition are the leading reasons fo1r death among children between ages one to five. Mal nutrition still kills children and adults in Brazil. In addition, the Brazilian government has poor management of waste, and food inspections. The Brazilian government has a long way to go before infant mortality rate decreases to worldwide standards. Technological:1.Brazilian communication system is good. Cities and countryside are equipped with many means of communications (phone, cell phones, fax, television, radio) with exception of computer. The use of computers as a mean of communication is a process that has been growing in Brazil, but due to the high cost of computer hardware it stills a slow growth. The most popular mass communication is television, and Brazilians love soap opera. TV networks strategically start the TV news between the hours of the most popular soap opera, seven to eight p.m. In addition, house and cell phones became more affordable for Brazilians since the Brazilian government had privatized its telecommunication corporation. There is a real potential growth for computer in Brazil. It is believe that soon, the Brazilian government will facilitate and lower taxes for import of computers, which will make computers much affordable item to Brazilians. These infrastructures can ensure that our local communication and promotion can be done efficiently and effectively. 2.Brazilian transportation system is reasonable; it has some good and bad sides. Brazil has roads, rail, air, and ships, but not all works efficiently. Brazil is fortunate because it has south to north regions connected by the Atlantic Ocean. Therefore, the navigation system is good for transporting large volume of goods throughout the Brazilian coast, but it is not good for transporting people due to long journey. The Brazilian  air system excellent, and recently it is becoming more affordable to Brazilians, but still not cheap to many. The railroad system is, with exception of urban rails, in precarious condition. It requires a great amount of capital investment, mostly for repairs of rails, newer and faster trains, more employees, and newer distribution of rails throughout the country. In similar situation are the roads of Brazil. Highways and interstates are in great need for repair and expansion. Many enterprises have difficulties in transporting goods among states because the highways are very dangerous. Brazilian highways and interstates are filled with dangerous fissures on the road, not enough roads, and damaged bridges. To make things worse, highway pirates are a big problem in Brazil. Often, the news channel announces the robbery of a loaded truck, and the death of the truck driver. High rates of lost, employees and goods, forces enterprises to reevaluate the company’s expansion due to high costs and risks of transporting goods. This base can help us to which transportation tools we should focus and which we should avoid to use. The regression analysis of the paper reveals that welfare receipts affect the labor supply decisions of the poor and that the  implementation of welfare programmers under control of village governments takes these effects into account.

Socially, women were expected to display distinctive qualities such as subservience, pacifism, and protectionism. However, independent female characters, within medieval literature, are at various times contradictory to social philosophies. These women are guided by desires, independence, and progress notions. These conflicting depictions of social and individual concepts, within female characters, illustrates feministic divergences within specific writings of Geoffrey Chaucer, the Pearl Poet, and Margery Kempe.
